A Walk at the Quidditch Feild

"Um.... are you sure? Aren't you going to get cold?"

Jaci looked at Tom feeling a little guilty he is giving up his coat on such a cold day.

"For ssssome ssssstrange reassson, my blood isssss assss cold asssss icccce. FOr taht reasssson, my body isssss permanently cold. SSSSSo I do not feel cold at all" hissed Tom.

"Well.... ok."

Jaci held the coat tight as a strong, quick breeze of wind blew right through them.

"Thanks. I'll give it back to you when we get back."

"You keep it" hissed Tom as Basil came back with the ball in her mouth.

"Oh, ok. Thanks."

Jaci watched Basil slither back to Tom with the ball. The wind had lifted a little but its cold still crept about. The coat Tom gave her kept her warm throughthe breeze.

Suddenly, more hissing was heard from behind them. "Massster, there you are. I have been looking for you" hissed a black 50 ft snake as it slithered up to Tom.

Jaci looked over her shoulder to see a very large snake by tom. Oh my gosh!That's a really big snake. Jaci's eyes widened even larger at the sight.

"Ah, Consssstrictor" hissed Tom.

Jaci watched the snake slither over to Tom. Chills ran down her spine at the sight of its size.

"Thisssss isss my other familiar, Conssstrictor" hissed Tom as the other snake looked to Jaci & as if he understood Tom, Constrictor nodded his head.

Jaci looked up at Constrictor. She nodded and gave a grin.

"Nice to meet him too."

Then, the snake went up to her & looked, more like glared, at her with piercing blue eyes.

Jaci looked into the snake's blue eyes. Ok.... What's he doing?

"Don't worry. He issss jussssst analyzzzzing you" hissed Tom. The snake went back to Tom's side & started wrestling with Basil.

Jaci finally relaxed herself once the snake went over to Basil. She sighed to herself.

"Oh I didn't know. Does he normally do that?"

"No, normally he wrapssssss himssssself around a persssson & sssssquesssssesssss them ssssso hard he breaks all the perssssson'ssss bonesss. Then he eatsssss the body. Conssssider yourssself lucky" hissed Tom.

Jaci felt her face turn pale again and her eyes widened at the thought. Chills ran down her spine.

"Considered lucky then."

"Yesss. Consssstrictor isssss a boa consssstrictor. He hassss no venom sssso he ressssortsssss to the bone crussssshing" hissed Tom.

Jaci felt more chills run down her spine at the 'bone crushing'. She watched Basil and Constrictor wrestled around with each other.

"For sssssome ssssstrange reasssssson, they ssssseem to have a crussssssh on each other by they play wrestle with each other. Don't you think ssssso?" hissed Tom, referring to the snakes.

Jaci shrugged at the question still watching.

"Maybe they're just playing like that just for the fun of it, like how friends or siblings would."

"Then you haven't ssssseen how they act when they are alone. I sssssswear I keep ssssseeing Basssssil blussssssh whenever ssssshe looksssss at Consssssstrictor" hissed Tom.

"Huh? That's different."

Jaci looks away from the snakes and braces herself from another strong breeze coming through now.

Tom just stared as the snakes wrestled with each other. He smiled a genuine smile for reasons that escape him as he watched them play with each other. A tear dripped down his eyes & he was confused by it, but he didn't let it bother him.

Jaci looked over her shoulder seeing a tear leaving a little trail on his face. Her eyes looked a little concerned now.

"What's wrong?"
